Gas Operative Blue Card
This category of card is for those who undertake work on gas supply systems and appliances; and who have individual Gas Safe registration which confirms their legal right to undertake such work.
This category of card is for those who do not possess appropriate L2 or L3 NVQ or equivalent gas industry-specific qualifications, but who have met the requirements for entry to the industry and have successfully completed the requisite ACS assessments which allow individual Gas Safe registration.
Any applicants who have completed a relevant gas industry Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ or Diploma qualification and who can also demonstrate current individual Gas Safe registration should apply for either a blue or gold Gas Service Engineer card.

Qualification requirements
To meet the qualification requirements for this card applicants must be able to provide evidence of:
Having completed any of the following Managed Learning Programmes, and evidence of holding current, valid, ACS certificates:
- BPEC Domestic Gas Foundation
- Blueflame Certification – Pathway to Gas
- Cert-ain Gas Diploma
- LCL Awards Managed Learning Programme
- NICEIC Domestic Elementary Gas Certificate
Or
- Holding current, valid, ACS certificates.

MPORTANT NOTE: Due to the statutory regulations that apply to gas installers you must be individually GAS SAFE registered. You will be asked to provide your individual LICENCE number when you apply for this card.
In conclusion, Cardholders working on gas must hold a current Gas Safe registration.
