Fire And Security Systems Technician
Fire And Security Systems Technician: There are four FESS pathways (Fire, Fire & Emergency Lighting, Fire & Security, or Security) each with its own assessment.
The FESS Gold Hatched card is for experienced people who have been working with fire, emergency or security systems and who have qualified to the industry Level 3 standard in one of the relevant specialisms (installation, maintenance or commissioning) of the FESS Experienced Worker Assessment.
Working at this level typically involves carrying out duties unsupervised that may include installation or maintenance of FESS systems.
Eligibility and requirements
To be eligible for this card, applicants must have successfully completed one of the specialisms of the FESS Experienced Worker Assessment in their chosen pathway as follows:
- Installation
- Maintenance
- Commissioning
- Installation and Commissioning

2. Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment.
